Required Fields Marked/Indicated and error upon saving doesn't lose entry

It would be nice that required fields are indicated or marked somehow (asterisk or highlighted or bolded, etc). Also, when something isn't entered in a required field, then saving without entry isn't allowed and the work entered isn't loss. Example, entering a product on a job order without phase/cost type entered, it doesn't allow the save and keeps the window up to finish the work. Right now it allows the save/update but the error comes afterward thus losing the save and entry and have to start over again.
